What are the chances of winning the dormitory?

The number of applicants and the remaining beds for each stage of the waiting list are different each year, so it is impossible to estimate the exact probability.
The waiting period for each application is in June, July and August each year. Anyone who needs accommodation can participate in the dormitory waiting application.

Do I have to change dorms in my sophomore year?
Are you sure there must be a dormitory to live in?

The freshman lodging house is set as the freshman lodging house, and the sophomore year begins with the application for the lodging house to live in the old student lodging house.
Except for those with special status, the freshmen, sophomores will be given priority.

After the department of Nanda campus moves to the main campus, will the student dormitory also be arranged in the main campus?

The dormitory allocation is based on the main class location of the department. If the colleges on the Nanda campus have been relocated back to the Main campus, in principle, they will be arranged to live in the Main campus.

Can I apply for beds across campuses?

Due to the limited dormitory resources of the school, if you take courses or for special reasons, you can fill in the "Application Form for Student Accommodation Campus Adjustment" to apply for a change of campus, but the division of student housing will still arrangement based on the actual bed situation. If the reason for the application disappears, the division of student housing will adjust it back to the original dormitory campus according to regulations.

What is a quiet bedroom? How to apply for a quiet bedroom?

Undergraduate students can choose to apply for quiet dormitory when applying for dormitory.
The quiet dormitory for new students in the main campus is located on some floors of Dorm Hsin, the quiet dormitory for old students is located on the 4th and 5th floor of Building C of Dorm Shinn for male, and the female are located on the 2nd floor of Dorm Wen.
Nanda campus male are located on the 1st floor of Shu Te Building, and female are located on the 4th floor of Ying Hsi.
Quiet dormitory will cut off the internet in the bedroom from 1:00 am to 6:00 am every day. The quiet dormitory will turn off the headlights in the bedroom on time at 12:00 am every night, and the table lamps in the bedroom can be used freely without control time.

What is Residential College?

The Residential College is the first dormitory that combines living and learning. It is both a dormitory and a college. It is located in Dorm Jen and Shyr. Tsing Hua College is responsible for the operation of the Residential College. What can I do if I know my child is experiencing interpersonal setbacks, adjustment problems, or stress at school?

Your support is very important. Listen carefully to them and tell them about the Counseling Center and its services, while paying attention to their circumstances.  Try to invite them to make an appointment with counselors but without pushing them. Always remember, your concern, active listening, and empathy are very helpful for a person in need. How to apply for a single room?

Single rooms are currently only available for graduate students, undergraduate does not provide single

room types.

Does the dormitory have set access times?

Residents can enter and exit the dormitory at any time by sensing the access control of the dormitory with their student ID, and there is no time limit for entering and leaving. If you need to meet guests, please follow the Article 16 of Dorm Rules for NTHU.
Rules for receiving visitors:

  1. Visitor hours: Male dormitory's visiting hours are from 8:00 am to 12:00 am; female dormitory's visiting hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Visitation at times other than these hours, and not permitted by dorm military instructor or Division of Student Assistance counselor, or the administrators will result in 5-15-point deduction.
  2. Visitors must register online on the Student Housing Division website or register with an ID card in person at service center. Meeting area is limited to the lounge of each building (exceptions include move-out and special permission by Division of Student Assistance counselor, dormitory administrator or approval by all roommates).
  3. Violators and those allowing a person of the opposite sex to stay in the dorm over night or take a shower in the bathroom will result in point deduction and their parents will be informed. In special circumstances, the head resident may inform the dorm military instructor, Division of Student Assistance counselor or the Division of Student Housing, and then the guest can wash up in a designated area.

Can choose dormitory for freshman?

  1. Freshmen can decide whether to apply for accommodation.
  2. The beds for freshmen are arranged by the school, you can't choose your roommate (register online in August every year).
